Vanessa Echols Founder P.O.BOX 141022 ORLANDO, FL 32814-1022 407-864-6458 Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. copyright 2012 Yet Another Rita Production OPERATION: IMPROVISE "I told them that COMPASSIONATE HANDS AND HEARTS is the only organization that could help that fast."  That was part of the conversation that led us to our client/friend Tai.  Someone in the radiation oncology department at FLORIDA HOSPITAL CANCER INSTITUTE called one Wednesday afternoon to ask us how quickly we could help a patient who was stressing over rent for the month.  Tai's husband recently lost his job and she doesn't have insurance.  Unfortunately their situation isn't unique.  Many patients are struggling with issues of insurance, MEDICAID, disability, etc.  That's part of the reason why we exist, to fill in the gaps.  They were in a rather desperate situation to get the rent taken care of by the next day.  Yes, less than 24 hours, so we had to get to work quickly.  Usually we have at least a few days to plan our outreaches, but this time we had to improvise.  We had Tai and her beautiful family meet us the next morning.  We paid the rent for the month, gave them a gas gift card, a department store gift card and our signature bag of goodies.  They were overwhelmed and we were grateful for the opportunity to help.  Thank you donors!
